Transcripts and the Application Process

Transcript requests are processed on a first come first served basis, however, priority will be granted to students who request transcripts for college applications as they have stringent deadlines to meet. For college applications, seniors must fill out one University Checklist per college or university. For other transcript requests please complete the general transcript request form.

Parent Information

Planning for college is stressful for students and parents alike. In our efforts to assist parents through the transitioning process from raising a high school student to supporting a college student, the guidance department has prepared the College Planning Packet. This packet is filled with advice for the application process, the visa procurement procedures, and articles from various publications.

Tips for parents on how best to help your child in the college search and application process:
1.  Help your child understand the college search process
2.  Be realistic and non-judgmental
3.  Be in the "back seat" of the college search process
4.  Be open to dialogue and responsive to questions
5.  Be aware of deadlines and fees due
6.  Know that things have changed since your college days
7.  Don’t overemphasize your own alma maters
8.  Don’t compare your child with others
9.  Don’t dwell on disappointments, like a rejection letter
10.  Celebrate successes!

Planning for the future is truly a lifelong endeavor. The guidance department is available to help all students in their academic pursuits that will ultimately lead them to the field of employment that they aspire toward. The Guidance Department database will allow students to complete an interest inventory which matches your personality and interests to possible career paths.

Through this program the counseling office will send “assignments” to students regarding college and career preparation.  The suggested activities will be sent via Naviance to all students.
