Dear Parents of Elementary Students,

Accreditation News
International Community School is very pleased to announce that for a third time in a row ICS has earned full-term accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), whose headquarters are in California, and from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), in Colorado.  ICS spent more than a year evaluating itself in preparation for this examination. Last March, a team of eight international educational leaders from six countries spent four and a half days scrutinizing ICS inside and out.  Finally, in July, we received the evaluation. WASC and ACSI concluded that ICS meets all the standards and requirements for full-term reaccreditation. This achievement assures our ICS community of two vital things.  First, ICS is maintaining high standards both in its educational program and operations.  Second, and perhaps more importantly, WASC and ACSI recognize our commitment to continued growth: making our best even better.

Uniform Information
A question has come up about uniforms. The official uniform shirt/blouse this year is the ICS knit polo shirt in blue, yellow, burgundy, or white. The ICS eagle logo must be on the pocket. Last year, we had a transition year for uniforms during which students could still wear the buttoned shirts and blouses, but they are not official uniforms for this school year.

EBSCO Search Engine
ICS provides for you and your child access to EBSCO: Kids Search and Searchasaurus. It offers safe and trustworthy on-line resources that are easy to use and provide age-appropriate content from the world’s leading magazines and reference books. 

Coming Soon 
  - Good News Club (GNC) - If you want your second, third, fourth, or fifth grade student to attend, return the permission form and fee right away, if you have not returned them already. The forms were sent home last Wednesday. GNC starts on Tuesday August 31.
  - Enrichment Program After-School - Soon you will receive information about ICS’ after-school activities telling you what activities are available for your child to sign up and other details.
  - New School Management Software Called RenWeb - Soon you will receive information on how to access information about your child and his performance at school via RenWeb. ICS no longer uses EdLine.
