Paperwork and the Application Process Transcript requests are processed on a first come first served basis, however, priority will be granted to students who request transcripts for college applications as they have stringent deadlines to meet. For college applications, seniors must fill out one short form per college or university. For other transcript requests, one form can be used for up to three addressees. Click on the links above to access the forms and print them from your home computer. Following is a list of steps to take to ensure that your university application and recommendations are processed efficiently and send in a timely fashion. This list is meant to help you through the process of applying. Understand that the guidance department will process approximately 300 university applications each year. These procedures will help us to ensure proper handling. - Fill in university information on form
- Submit recommendations and counselor forms to the appropriate personnel
- Request that recommendations be returned to the guidance secretary, Mrs. Kath
- Submit the shorter transcript request form for all transcript copies. (click on short form link above to download the document.)
- All paperwork submitted is filed in the file for your university.
- Submit your University Application Checklist after you check with the office to ensure that your paperwork has been collected and filed.
- You may not view your teacher or counselor recommendations as per the signed waiver on your forms.
- The guidance counselor will review all recommendations and will ensure that no negative recommendations are mailed.
- Prior to mailing, all paperwork is copied and kept on file for the remainder of the school year.
- We will mail all paperwork together on the requested date. (university form must be in for us to do this)
If you have any questions regarding this new procedure or need assistance, please contact Miss Kristi, Miss Jes or Mr. Rebel. Parent Information Planning for college is stressful for students and parents alike. In our efforts to assist parents through the transitioning process from raising a high school student to supporting a college student, the guidance department has prepared the College Planning Packet. This packet is filled with advice for the application process, the visa procurement procedures, and articles from various publications. Please look over the information in the packet often and let it guide you in the process of your son or daughter’s transition to college. In addition, any parents interested in receiving the mini “assignments” that are occasionally sent from the guidance department to students can contact Mrs. Kathereeya with their details. Please include your: email information, name, student’s name, and graduation year. These mini “assignment” although optional and not a graded assignment will assist your son or daughter in the decision making process of choosing a career, choosing a major, finding a college, registering for standardized tests and the like.
