Career Planning

Planning for the future is truly a lifelong endeavor. The guidance department is available to help all students in their academic pursuits that will ultimately lead them to the field of employment that they aspire toward. The Guidance Department database will allow students to take the well-known Holland’s Types interest inventory. This inventory matches your personality and interests to careers that people with your personality and interests would be successful in. While it does not choose a career for you, it does help you to decide what direction you should search in.

The counseling office will send “assignments” to students requesting that they take the inventories in their Sophomore through Senior years in high school. The assignments will also be posted on the guidance calendar. This will help students to begin the process of careers research, which will also be a part of the mini “assignments” sent out through the guidance department. The suggested activities will be sent via email to all students. If any parents would like to be included in the mailing of guidance related reminders or “assignments,” please contact Mrs. Kathereeya to submit your email details, name, student name, and graduation year for your son or daughter. Be looking for them to start soon!
