Letter from Guidance

Welcome to the ICS guidance department!

The guidance department is happy to be available to meet our students and parents academic, social, and emotional needs. We offer a range of services to students and parents alike. As you browse through our department information, feel free to contact us with questions or concerns that you may have. We have four staff members to serve you: Jes Charlton, guidance counselor A-L; Kristi Wollbrink, M-Z; Somporn Tangsirisatian, registrar; and Kathereeya Robertson, upper schools guidance/registrar secretary.

Jes CharltonJes Charlton
holds a Masters of Education degree in School Counseling as well as a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology. Prior to joining ICS’ guidance department she worked as a Secondary Guidance Counselor in rural Oregon along with many other volunteer counseling/mentor positions. Her experiences have provided opportunities to develop her social, emotional, and academic skills, including individual and group counseling work, as well as career planning and classroom instruction.  It is her hope and prayer to assist her students at ICS to pursue their dreams and excel in their academics. She is excited to be a part of the wonderful staff at ICS and continue to advance the guidance services throughout the year.  

Kristi Wollbrink
Kristi Wollbrinkholds a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences and Masters of Education degree in School Counseling. Prior to joining the guidance department, Kristi worked in student support-services at the postsecondary level, as well as teaching at the elementary school level. It was through these positions, in addition to her counseling program, that she was able to gain experience working with students in the areas of academic, social, emotional and spiritual development including individual and group counseling work, classroom instruction, career planning and intervention/referral services. She is excited about taking part in the continued advancement of the guidance services at ICS throughout the coming years.

Somporn Tangsirisatian
Somporn Tangsirisatian holds a bachelors of Business Administration degree in Advertising & Public Relations and holds a Masters of Education degree in Educational Administration. She served as the guidance secretary for 6 years at ICS prior to taking on the position of school registrar. In this role she provides academic information for secondary parents and students through Renweb, prepares report cards, distributes transcripts and other records for students, and maintains student information. She hopes to continue to work toward streamlining the services provided by the school registrar in the coming years.

Kathereeya Robertson
Kathereeya Robertsongraduated in Political Science from Thammasat University. Since she is always looking for opportunities to develop herself in learning, she took a few courses in English writing and translation as well. Her previous job was with an International Humanitarian Relief and Development Organization, which gave her the opportunity to visit and work in a cross-cultural environment and serve needy people in underdeveloped countries. She believes that these valued experiences have helped her to have a service-minded attitude and to obtain the skills to serve people in need. She applies these characteristics to provide better service to the students, parents and ICS community as the Secretary for the Guidance and Registrar departments.
