Welcome to ICS Middle School! The vision of ICS is to teach the whole student to know and apply wisdom for the good of this world and the glory of God. The Middle School faculty is devoted to seeing this vision come to fruition each school day. Our experienced staff members are educators who look to further develop students physically, emotionally, educationally, and spiritually. All of our educators are certified professionals who go beyond the call of duty in and out of the classroom. They offer varied teaching methods including cooperative learning activities, differentiated instruction, direct instruction, use of multimedia tools, etc. in order to attain the highest level for every student. Many teachers also work with students after school hours coaching sports teams, teaching drama, working with ministry groups, etc. We recognize that the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade years of students' lives are integral in their social development. Therefore we as a faculty strongly believe in emphasizing the building of character, moral values, and teamwork among our student body. Students work year- round with their homeroom classes in order to build up positive, encouraging relationships with each other. We are confident that this approach effectively instills the proper structure and responsibility into the hearts and minds of our students. We have five basic middle school rules: Be Positive, Be Prompt, Be Prepared, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful. Beyond that, we encourage our educators to instill Christ-centered values such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and self-control into the lives of their students. The more our educators model these attributes, the more our students will learn to do the same. This is one of the key strengths of our school, the remarkable, loving and nurturing attitude of our staff members. As a Christian school, we believe that each student is blessed with individual gifts from God, and our curriculum is designed for that purpose. We offer an extensive Language Arts and Social Studies program as well as an intensive Mathematics and Science program. In addition, our curriculum provides a Thai language class to every middle-school student, as well as art class, physical education class, computer class, music class, drama class, ESL class (if needed), etc. Our after-school sports program includes basketball, soccer, and volleyball. I look forward to working alongside our parents in order to more effectively educate ICS students so that we can best prepare them to be lifelong learners as well as positive and compassionate members of our global society.
