ICS Mission Statement is “Based on the Bible, in partnership with parents, we teach the whole student to know and apply wisdom for the good of our world and the glory of God.”  See below for further clarification of what this means.

The counselors at International Community School believe that ...

• God’s word, the Bible, provides the standard for life and godliness for counseling students.
• All students are created in the image of God thus have value and importance.
• All students can achieve growth, improvement, and maturity with proper direction.
• All students at ICS have access to and receive services from a qualified school counselor.
• All students have unique learning styles, developmental stages, religious backgrounds, cultural differences, and special needs that are considered in the planning and implementation of the school counseling program.

And the school counselors believe that the ICS counseling program should ...

• Be based upon the standard of God’s word, the Bible.
• Be based upon a specific set of standards and benchmarks that are developmentally appropriate for all students grades K4 – 12.
• Be planned and coordinated through a collaborative effort between counselors, administrators, staff, parent, and community representatives.
• Be preventive in nature with respect to providing services in the areas of academic, career, and personal/social development.

• Have a sound Biblical basis for counseling ethics and methods.
• Be expected to live exemplary lives as our lives have a reflection on the school and the Lord Jesus Christ.

• Participate in school counseling professional development activities and maintain membership in associations with professional organizations.
